If you have read the first part of this article, you would have noticed that three methods of diagnosis for back pains were discussed and these are X-ray Imaging, Discography and Computerized Tomography (CT). Each of these has its peculiar process and system of application. Also, the target areas of the diagnosis were also described.
In this second part, other methods of back pain diagnoses are looked into read on.
Bone scans are carried out on patients who complain of back pain frequently. The procedure is targeted at identifying fractures, infections or any form of disorders that might have affected the bones in the back. This procedure may involve the use of radioactive materials to inject into the blood stream where they collect in the bones. The use of scanner images is also applied in the process.
Thermography is the procedure, which entails the use of infrared devices to detect change of the absence of nerve root compression in the back. This procedure is very effective as it involves the measure of temperatures in the body’s organ.
Electro diagnostic Procedures, which may include Evoked Potential (EP), Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography (EMG), are all procedures that can be applied to diagnose your back pain especially if there is injury on the back. Also, ultra sound scanning or ultra sound imaging is also used to diagnose muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other tissues at the back whose functions have been distorted in one way or the other.
